Which sentence can be used?

Hi,


I don't understand, i found two sentences to express same thing.
which is correct?:


"Until the cows come home"
or
"When pigs have wings"

  • These idioms have not exactly the same signification.


    "Until the cows come home" means "for a (very) long time", duration not definite.


    "When pigs have wings" means "never", the equivalent in french would be "quand les poules auront des dents". ;)
