  • Hello, TheRalf, nice to meet you!
I've done some research in the episodes of my workbook to remember what the lesson at stake is about, and I made up my mind like that: "you must be choking" sounds like "you must be joking" which is a common expression. It could be a pun, with the verb "choking " instead of "joking", as in the story Icarus (?) or Edward? who else...) almost choked on a sweet (?) that Philip has thrown in his mouth, a kind of  basket-ball game at  the coffee machine.
No translation I'm afraid, and no German either, but having followed gg lessons for a while, I'm being imbued with the spirit of them, our teachers like playing with the tongue we learn.
    That's only my interpretation, nevertheless...
Hope to hear about you sometimes,
    Have a nice weekend.
  • Hello Pimpanella,

thank you very much for your answer.
It makes sense to me that it could be a pun.
And I wonder how come I didn't think of that.

    Thank for helping
