HAS and THEIR

I find this in an exercise: "PSG HAS lost THEIR seven matches in a row".
What do you think ...?

    Their : leur/leurs but also son/sa/ses

    HAS is used because [the] PSG can be thought of as a single unit not plural players.

    THEIR is used to show possession [of matches 'belonging' to PSG], but I don't think that the word THEIR is really needed in this sentence,
