Mottos worth telling oneself

A motto - as defined by a happy-go-Lucky bastard - is a short say expressing a guiding principle.

Make a noble gesture: post under this thread one of your personal mottos.(Lucky bastard reported)

  • Lucky bastard said somewhere sometime that my wish was his command. I can't help sending back his statement by saying that his wish was my command. Since I implemented his wish by shifting his wrongly headlined thread to this neatly headed one.
With due respect to the authors, here are the mottos they delivered up until now.

Never give a hand, it makes one-handed. (by Lucky bastard)

No dream is ever too big for me. (by Sandy Ayeomen)

Before acting, go thinking. (By Gee)

Life is not a dress rehearsal. (By Jens K)

Life is a one-off deal. (By Lucky bastard)
  • Don't mistake life for a catwalk.
  • Only love matters.
  • Three words for a motto. Astounding, that Jens K!

Lovers never fail to turn heartbreakers. Since my motto tells two words only:

    Be heartless.
  • If I happened to come across the cold Ahq, I'd show him I'm warmhearted nonetheless.
  • I must apologize a hundred times, Lucky bastard.
I overlooked the caution in your obsolete thread "Sayings..",
preventing us from adding anything to the thread.
    I'm a decrepit moron!

My motto is derived from a chinese wisdom:

"If you want to be happy for an hour, take a nap.
If you want to be happy for a day, go fishing.
If you want to be happy for a year, make a fortune.
If you want to be happy for a lifetime, take up the appropriate profession."
