Once in a while
Once in a blue moon

    Once in a while = every now and then = from time to time = not very often = occasionlly.


    Once in a blue moon = very rarely
    I think the latter is nearly the same as never, like: when pigs fly = when Philip Cheeter has had it with women.


    A blue moon is a second full moon in the same calendar month. Yesterday we had a full moon. We'll have a blue moon on next August 31. That's worth knowing, isn't it, Juline?
